Visit the Royal Botanical Gardens with its unique collection of orchid and spice trees, the arts and crafts centres and the elephant bathing place. Visit the temple in the evening to witness the age old ceremonies.

Motor up the mountains through green carpets of tea to Nuwara Eliya (elevation 2200 metres), the holiday resort typically English in character with its cool weather. Golfing enthusiasts will have the opportunity of playing on one of the most beautiful golf courses in the world.

Return through Hatton and Kitulgala where the Bridge on the River Kwai was filmed.
