MULLAITIVU WEATHER

Mullaitivu District covers an area of around 2,515 square kilometers and is bordered by the Palk Strait to the north and the Bay of Bengal to the east. The district has a diverse geography, including coastal areas, lagoons, and inland forests. The Mullaitivu town serves as the administrative center.

One notable feature is the Nanthikadal lagoon, which played a significant role during the final stages of the civil conflict in 2009. The district is also home to the Mullivaikkal Memorial, commemorating those who lost their lives during the conflict.
Since the end of the war, there have been efforts to rebuild and rehabilitate the region. Fishing and agriculture are vital economic activities for the local population. The district is gradually recovering, but challenges persist, and the impact of the conflict lingers on the community.
